MISSION
We strive for the social and economic integration of persons living in a situation of homelessness and of those at risk of becoming homeless.
We promote participation and engagement through the creation of a living environment and the development of exchange networks. The core values of our approach are autonomy, dignity, empowerment and solidarity.
PHILOSOPHY
We believe that in order to solve the problem of homelessness, we must go beyond reinserting homeless persons in society. Our reintegration approach seeks to help them get back power and influence. Our mission contributes to the humanization of society.
The Sac à Dos’ approach focuses on outreach intervention and popular education. Its philosophy of action lies within the harm reduction school of thought.
Sac à Dos’ services do not immediately end homelessness. These services create a living environment, build trust, and develop exchange networks, allowing users to get on the path of gradual reintegration.
This philosophy focuses on the homeless person as the protagonist at the center of the reintegration process. It encourages engagement and participation with a core emphasis on autonomy, dignity, and solidarity.
